Assisting in the Capacity Building of Stakeholders in Implementation of Sabla in Selected Districts in Chhattisgarh

LEGAL LITERACY MATERIALS FOR LEGAL EMPOWERMENT OF ADOLESCENT GIRLS IN CHHATTISGARH

The Ministry of Woman and Child Development, Government of India, has launched a comprehensive scheme for adolescent girls which is called ‘Rajiv Gandhi Scheme for Empowerment of Adolescent Girls’ or SABLA. This scheme will be implemented in 5 districts in Chhattisgarh: Surguja, Bastar, Raipur, Rajgarh and Rajnandgaon.

This project brought together MARG, UNICEF (Raipur) and the Department of Woman and Child Development, Govt of Chhattisgarh, in collaborating to ensure the effective implementation of the SABLA scheme in the selected districts of Chhattisgarh. Under this project MARG developed training materials in order to spread knowledge among anganwadi workers, adolescent girls and other stakeholders on the provisions of the SABLA scheme and related entitlements and remedies. MARG developed posters, flip charts, a training module and booklets on various issues related to the empowerment of adolescent girls for use by the Government of Chhattisgarh.
